Jenny Morris Food Network’s new season of Chopped celebrated in Sandton.

Food Network, the 24/7 food entertainment channel on DStv will celebrate a new season of Chopped in South Africa with four up-and-coming chefs facing the chopping block in a competition in front of a celebrity panel of judges at the Good Food Studio at Pick ‘n Pay on Nicol in Sandton (*cnr Republic and William Nicol drives). The event takes place on Thursday, 1 September (9am for 9.30am) in front of a select audience and is by invitation only.The four up-and-coming chefs that will compete are Jodi Ann Pearton, Regional Committee Chairperson of the South Africa Chef Association (SACA); Kevin Miller, Lindt Chocolatier; Abubaker Bagaria, Head Chef at Bistro on Boulevard and Jelele Mokhine, Sous Chef at the Park Inn, Sandton.The three judges are Andrew Atkinson, Executive Chef at the Michelangelo Hotel in Sandton; James Khoza, Executive Sous Chef at the Sandton Convention Centre and Jenny Morris, one of South Africa’s most well-known and respected chefs. Food Network recently signed Jenny to develop and host Food Network’s first commissioned show in South Africa.Calvin Smith, well-known food and hospitality presenter is the MC.Each contestant will receive an amount of R25 000 for a charity of choice.
New Chopped SeriesPassion and expertise rule the kitchen on this fast-paced new series, Chopped. Hosted by Ted Allen on the Food Network (DStv Channel 185).The series challenges four up-and-coming chefs to turn a selection of everyday ingredients into an extraordinary three-course meal.After each course, a contestant gets "chopped" until the last man or woman left standing claims victory.Each week, a rotating panel of culinary elite judges will decide whose dishes shine the brightest and award the winner.
